Afrikans for Retention and Outreach Hall (Living Learning Community) "AFRO Hall"
AFRO Hall is a residential Living Learning community that welcomes first and second year students from all cultures within the African diaspora. Students who are interested in exploring their African and Black identities while enhancing their collegiate experience. Afro Hall students are expected to engage with other members in the hall and the UTSU course associated with the LLC.
Students must complete the online housing application and the supplemental information to be accepted to the hall.

UC Merced's Black Book is dedicated to all things Black at UCM. This website contains information about the Black clubs & organizations, Black Faculty & Staff, and much more! This webpage contains all of the information about the Black community as well as the necessary contact information. In addition, you can also find information about the different campus and off campus that may be beneficial as a Black bobcat.

Black Girl Doctor
In partnership with the UC Merced Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), Black Girl Doctor offers wellness coaching services to all UCM scholars. Wellness coaching focuses on helping scholars seek balance between their academic and personal lives.
Coaching appointments are now 90 minutes!

Financial Wellness
The Financial Wellness Center at UC Merced was founded in 2020, with the goal of assisting students to develop and achieve financial wellness by creating a safe and inclusive environment for students to discuss and learn more about their own personal financial management. The FinWell Center offers free financial coaching sessions both in person and via Zoom. They also provide various workshops for students and helping students to explore different financial treks towards financial freedom.

Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD)
The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) contributes to this university commitment by overseeing campus compliance with the University of California and UC Merced policies prohibiting protected category discrimination and harassment (including sexual harassment and violence). Their oversight of these policies encompasses responding to and resolving reports of harassment and discrimination from students, staff, faculty, and visitors that are related to protected class and civil rights policies.
